The fart of the Deal: QUID PRO QUO

When President Zelensky said Ukraine was ready to purchase American missiles so it could repel Russian-supported fighters, Trump seized the opportunity “I would like you to do us a favor though,”

President Trump held-up $391 million dollars in defense aid that had been appropriated by Congress for Ukraine’s defense from Russia’s military attack.   President Trump sat back, watching the killing by the Russians of Ukraine’s people and in his July 25, 2019 telephone call, asked President Volodymyr Zelensky for a “favor” before releasing the $391 million dollars in aid.

President Trump directly said to President Zelensky that Biden went around bragging . . . “it sounds horrible to me.”

Trump stressed.  Trump was also quick to point out that “the United States has been very, very good to Ukraine.” Clearly implying he had the ability to be not so good;  I’m good to you, you be good to me.

So President held up $391 million dollars.  Asked the President of Ukraine for the “favor” of helping with the investigation into former Vice-President Joe Biden for the “horrible” things Biden had done.  Yet Trump knew that what Biden had done with the blessing of both Republicans and Democrats was to help rid Ukraine of corrupt prosecutor.  The implication was clear . . . Do me (Trump) the favor of digging up dirt on Biden and you get your $391 million dollars in defense aid.  Then came the whistle-blower complaint that Trump sought a Quid Pro Quo for his personal political benefit at the expense of Ukraine defending itself against the Russian military.

This for That . . . Something for Something . . . You Scratch My Back and I’ll Scratch Yours.  Whatever you call it . . . Quid Pro Quo . . . I call it both TREASON and EXTORTION that led to Ukrainians being killed unnecessarily.

Quid Pro Quo doesn’t even begin to describe what President Trump did:

Treason is the giving of comfort and aid to America’s enemy:

“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.”  (United States ConstitutionArticle III, section 3).

Trump specifically gave aid to Russia by withholding $391 million dollars in defense funds and equipment to Ukraine, for months – knowingly allowing Russia to kill more Ukrainians without the aid Congress appropriated for their defense.  How comforting that must have been that Russia’s forces did not have to face the American Javelin Anti-Tank weapons for months.

Extortion (also called shakedown) is obtaining benefit through coercion.

Trump wanted Ukraine to agree to not only find the dirt on the “horrible” stuff that Trump claimed he had heard about on Biden, but he made military aid conditional on the Ukrainian President to sign a letter attesting to the formal investigation into former Vice-President and current Trump challenger, Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.  Was Trump, by causing the $391 million to be held-up while Ukrainians were being killed, extorting an investigation and formal statement by Ukraine in order to receive the aid?  Quid Pro Quo?  This ($391M) for That (Dirt on Biden).  The alternative was to forego the military aid, inform Trump that there was no dirt on Biden and continue to suffer the military casualties inflicted by Russia.

Quid Pro Quo is more appropriately Trump offering to commit Adultery with Porn Star Hooker Stormy Daniels for $130,000; I give you $130,000, you give me Adultery - which we hear lasted 2 minutes. Each has the ability to walk away without humans being killed. Quid Pro Quo is Trump committing adultery with Playboy Bunny Hooker Karen McDougal for $150,000. I give you this, you give me that – which we hear occurred in Trump’s residence where Melania lived. When the giving of something Congress said to give, is withheld, and Ukrainian lives are lost, the releasing of the aid in return for the giving of the false formal letter declaring an investigation into a political rival doesn’t have the same meaning . . . it’s a full blown shakedown; Extortion coupled with Treason.

On October 17, 2019 Trump’s acting Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney admitted the Trump administration had engaged in a quid pro quo with Ukraine, withholding aid from the country.  Trump’s legal team is stunned by the revelation of the quid pro quo.  But why then had so many Republicans denied the quid pro quo?

Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), a loyal Trump supporter, confronted President Trump on the quid pro quo allegations. Trump denied the facts.

“I didn’t find it concerning,” said Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa). “There was no quid pro quo, you’d have to have that if there was going to be anything wrong.”

On October 17, 2019, Mick Mulvaney flat out said in the White House Briefing Room, we held up the money to Ukraine, “GET OVER IT,” referring to a quid pro quo.

Each Republican is well aware that Trump engaged in a Quid Pro Quo, but also Treason and Extortion, they are also aware that many Ukrainians were killed as a result of the holding up of the military aid Congress appropriated for Ukraine. Republicans are perfectly fine with Trump’s shakedown of world leaders for personal gain.

On another note, on October 17, 2019, Trump announced the G-7 (Group of Seven Summit of world leaders) would be held at his Trump Doral Golf Resort in Miami, after revealing that the Doral Golf Resort’s income was down 69%.  That decision is without precedent in modern American history:  The sitting president using the office of the presidency to direct a massive contract to – HIMSELF.  Russian Oligarchs can’t dig Trump out of another of his failing businesses, so Trump will make sure the American Taxpayer does.
