Cardi B has quickly become the face to know, dipping her toes into every entertainment pool there is. From social media to TV to music, Cardi lives to entertain and entertains to live.
In her short music career thus far, Cardi B has earned herself two Grammy nominations, 36 million views on her first two music videos “Bartier Cardi (feat. 21 Savage) and “Be Careful”, topped the Billboard 200 chart, broke the records with the biggest ever first-week streaks for a debut album and female artist, and topped the R&B/Hip-Hop, Rap Albums, and Digital Albums charts (did you get all that?)
Did we mention she’s pregnant, still performing and filming new music videos?
With the fifth largest streaming debut of all time and title of Top Rap Female (Billboard Music Awards), Cardi has continued to work and stay on top.
Tuesday, Cardi blessed us with yet another video - “I Like It” - featuring Bad Bunny and J. Balvin.
The perfect amount of sweet and spicy, the colorful video pairs perfectly with its tune and forces you to dance along.
Our question is, will Cardi survive long-term? A baby on the way means a moment away from the spotlight (supposedly) and the adaptation to a new lifestyle. The social-media obsessed generation discovers new artists daily on every platform imaginable, and staying relevant has become a monstrous task compared to past years.
Personally, I enjoy Cardi B. She’s hilarious and weird without a care in the world, but her longevity remains in question.
