If you’re like me and you play Charlie Puth’s “Done For Me” featuring Kehlani at least 6 times before you can start your day, then you’ll completely understand all the hype concerning Puth’s new album, Voicenotes. Charlie Puth, the man that gives me goosebumps every single time I hear his angelic voice, has entered The Billboard Top Albums chart at #2 with his critically acclaimed sophomore album Voicenotes. If only Charlie would give me some “Attention”, he would rank #1 on my chart, but I’m really not sure “How Long” that will be... so I guess I will just be “Patient” for the time being.
“Attention” made a frenzy in the pop music world as it earned the RIAA 3x Multi-Platinum Award and for less astonishing, being the official song of my L.A. traffic car jams. His single “How Long” quickly followed by also becoming platinum-certified. Charlie’s newest single “Done For Me” (I think I would do almost anything for him, TRUST me) featuring Kehlani is another one that is rapidly climbing the charts since its release in Voicenotes earlier this month.
Voicenotes is already Gold-certified making it Puth’s highest chart debut of his career thus far. Voicenotes dropped earlier this month with every track written and produced by Charlie himself. Charlie has outdone himself with each one of the 13 songs on Voicenotes showing his romantic vulnerability, utter musical talent, and progression in the industry. He also collaborated with a unique mix of artists both new and old that added their own melodic influence onto his tracks. Linking up with Charlie are old school R&B’s Boyz II Men, Kehlani, and folk-rock star James Taylor giving flare and diversity to his triumphant sophomore album. The sexy nature of Voicenotes alludes to the pain and pleasure that comes from falling in love as a troubled twenty-something. Don’t worry Charlie, you’re not alone in that one.
The release comes just before he kicks off his biggest tour yet in North America, the 2018 Honda Civic Tour, starting July 13th in Boston and ending September 1st in West Palm Beach Florida. Charlie will be performing in several famous venues across the country including Radio City Music Hall on July 16th and in Los Angeles’s Greek Theatre on August 14th. Joining Charlie on this tour will be Multi-Platinum recording artist Hailee Steinfeld.
